The midterm will be given in class on
March 27, 2000. Mark your calendar now. NO MAKE-UP EXAM will
be given. It will be close book. In
addition, no notes, handout, or calculator is allowed during the exam.
Homework:
Homework is due at the beginning of the class.
NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE GRADED FOR CREDIT. Extension
may be granted for advanced arrangement in case of family or work related
emergencies. For all programming assignments, youll need to turn in a hard copy of
your program.
Individual work on the assignments is required.
READ CAREFULLY THE "ACADEMIC HONESTY" SECTION OF YOUR CATALOG.
Any violation on an exam/assignment will result in a 0 for the exam/assignment and
possibly a failing grade for the course.
Lectures:
All efforts have been devoted to make lecture informative and helpful. It
is your responsibility to find out what has been covered in those unattended classes.
Absence of classes may not be used as an excuse for late submission of any homework
assignment.
Class Participation:
Student presentations will
be given throughout the semester on different topics. Your
participation in both presenting and discussing the subject will be
counted toward your final grade.
Communications:
Any discrepancy on grades should be submitted to the
instructor within one week from the day that the grades are handed out in class (not the
day you receive it). The only exception will be the final exam.
Email is a very convenient way and in some cases the
only way that an instructor can communicate with a student. Important announcements may be announced via electronic mail without prior
notice.
