TPE(14) 1. I am extremely confident in displaying my knowledge of technology operations and concepts in a classroom setting. My strengths in Microsoft Office are mirrored in many of my lesson plans that I have created from the use of advanced word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. My competency in advanced word processing allows me to perform skills like inserting graphics and wrapping text. I can use advanced features like mail merge and create my own custom envelopes, mailing labels and letters. I am able to create borders, insert columns, rows, tables, text boxes and use word art. (See: Ms. Hendricks' Newsletter) I can even grade student's work on the computer and voice record commentaries and insert comments. With spreadsheets, I can produce graphs, make simple calculations, and organize information.(See: File Management Organization below) I can produce graphs from the data that I included in the spreadsheet. (See: Earthworm Activity below) The implementation of internet, video production, email, and Powerpoint presentations are a standard that I promote in my classroom. (See: Great Depression Inspiration Sheet) Use of web based activities keep my class attentive and brings life to history. I am able to go online and evaluate websites and software that will better serve my students with factual evidence and reliable information. I am able to create presentations and activities by making work sheets that correspond with the web activity or research activity on the internet. (See: ALT Presentation, Hopeless Romantics Web Activity, WWII Remembered, Lisa's Web Page below) I can also use email to converse with students, colleagues and parents.

| 6. | Introduction Powerpoint for Japanese Students in Ibaraki Japan (Jet Programme) This is a presentation that I created in Powerpoint to introduce myself to my new students at Sakuranomaki Senior High School in Japan. Students had difficulty understanding introduction presentations in English. I made a visual to assist my introductory speech so that students could understand my English by looking at pictures. | |
| 7. | Jeopardy Powerpoint I found this program from the Hillsborough School District Education Link. This program does wonders! I was able to review English lesson for upcoming tests for my students in Japan. This powerpoint program works like the real Jeopardy and creates a technologically challenging environment in which students have fun and review important information in an interesting way. This program requires the use of a computer, the internet and or a projector or tv screen. | |

Students can learn how to make a traditional altar to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. Frida Kahlo appears in this short movie as a precursor to the art movement in Mexico which I would like to discuss in detail with my students. | |
