Dream Classroom Assignment 

Scenario: 

The superintendent of your district has just put out an all district email explaining that she just found $50,000 in a lottery account that she had forgotten about.  She wants to use the money to convert a classroom into the dream classroom of the future.  She wants the room to be filled with cutting edge technology that will some day be standard in every classroom environment.

Your Job:

• You will be writing up a grant proposal to the superintendent (if you know where you will be doing your student teaching address it to that superintendent).
• In your proposal you will want to:
  • Introduce yourself (briefly)
  • Explain what you teach and at which school
  • Describe in detail each item of hardware and its purpose in the classroom
  • Insert a spreadsheet created in excel of the cost breakdown and total for your proposal
• Your proposal should include everything needed to get this up and running.  Assume that you already have a computer (an old one) in your classroom with internet access. The district will take care of the cost for any extra wiring.

• Introductory use of excel

• Investigate the tools needed to create a cutting edge classroom

• Practice grant writing
