Homework assignments

Homework will be due on Wednesday of the following week.
Every assignment is worth 15 points, but only your best 10 assignments are counted.
Assignments that are not picked up in class the day I return them will be kept in my office. Please stop by to pick up your old assignments.
IMPORTANT: If you use ANY outside help on an assignment, then you must acknowledge this. For example if you talk to anybody but me about the assignment write down the name and problem number. Similarly if you used the internet, computer programs or books other than our textbook. Failure to acknowledge using the work of somebody else is plagiarism and will be dealt with harshly.
Please write on your assignment in which section (8:30 or 10:00) you are.
Assignments are due Wednesday in class. If you can't make that, then you can drop it off in my mailbox in UH222 before 5PM, unless I specifically announce that this is not an option. By mailbox I mean the steel mailbox as you enter on the right and NOT the document holder next to my door. You should also be warned that a mailbox is less reliable than handing things to me in class, since things may get lost - use at your own risk.
Please STAPLE your homework and write NEATLY. If one of the pages of your assignment gets lost, or I can't read something it's YOUR problem. I may decide to deduct points for sloppy work.
Leaving enough room for the grader to write remarks is part of a good homework, and a common courtesy. If you do not do this you deprive yourself of crucial feedback.
