Course Announcements:
  • The final has been graded, and the grades have now been submitted:
    • It was sad how poorly some students did on very basic questions: Taking limits and derivatives, as well as stating the definition of the derivative.
    • Since the final exam was difficult I added bonus points to every final (these points are included in the score on the computer).
    • Apart from that I made no further changes to the grading scheme. So if your overall score is less than 50% then you received an F, if it is more than 60% then you received a C ... (as laid out in the syllabus).
    • I did not give any grade of C-.
    • The high score on the final was a 104 (including the bonus).
  • Sample Final exam Solutions.
  • I will be checking ID's at the Final exam. Bring your student ID!
  • Sample Final exam.
  • To view your course progress:
    • go to the homework portal,
    • click on Progress (in the left taskbar)
    • click on course (top of the screen)
    • the number in the top right corner is your score (out of 65) excluding the final.
    • once the final has been graded, the score will be entered and you can check it as well as your course score on the same page.
  • If you take Calculus II next semester: the same book will be used.
  • If you take Calculus I next semester: the book that will be used is by the same author, but it is different: it is called Calculus: Early transcendentals.
  • Study guide for Final exam.
  • Important Announcement: I had the wrong time for our final exam in the syllabus. Our final will be from 11:30 - 1:30 on December 17.
