The assignments tool allows you to create assignments with due dates, supporting files and to accept online submissions. |
Discussions
|
The discussion tool can be used for asynchronous discussion with other students in the course. Private discussion boards can be created for groups. The Discussion postings from students can now be graded and instantly entered into the gradebook. |

The mail tool is internal course mail and is not connected to your regular email account. You can send course mail to all students in your course or to specific individuals. You may also send attachments. |
Learning Module

The learning module allows you to gather resources and materials in a table of contents format for a topic or lesson. All your lecture readings, exercises, discussions, and assignments can be organized and linked from within one page. |
WebLinks |
The WebLinks tool allows you to create a direct link to an online resource such as E-Res or an important Web site that your students will need to access often. |

Gradebook
|
Creating an online gradebook is easy. Export student grades into Excel or another spreadsheet program. Keep students up-to-date with their progress in your course. |
Quizzes/Surveys |
The quiz/survey tool enables you to create quizzes using your own questions or those provided from your textbook publisher. Online quizzes are scored by WebCt and entered into your gradebook. |
Chat
|
The chat tool can be used for synchronous online meetings and/or virtual office hours. A script of each "chat" will be save in a chat folder in My Files. |
Glossary |
The glossary tool allows you to provide definitions for vocabulary words for your course. |
Calendar
|
The calendar can be used to list exams, guest speakers or even group presentations. You can make all the entries or allow your students to use the calendar to sign up for group projects. |
Single Page |
The single page tool is useful when you want a direct link to one file. |
TurnItIn
|
Turnitin assignments are now seamlessly integrated with WebCT 6. Turnitin generates orginality reports and is a very effective plagiarism detection tool. Group Manager |
The Group Manager allow the instructor to create custom groups in three different ways (including student online signup sheets) and allows you to assign content (such as discussion topics and group assignments) to these groups. |

File Manager |
WebCT has a filing system under Build Tab > File Manager. Here you will find My Files which can be accessed from all your courses, section files and public files. You can create folders and upload files. You can even zip all your files and upload them as a group. |
Track Students |
Track Students gives detailed information about the WebCT activity of each students in your course, including discussion board readings and postings. |
