Parting Thoughts and Resources
1) Though we still have two weeks of class left, reflect on what you have learned thus far. Identify one or two (or even three) concepts, perspectives, or examples from research which have struck you and changed your perception of families. Will these concepts, perspectives, or examples from research affect how you “do” family or how you work with families in the future? Explain. I expect to see careful and thoughtful reflection.
2) Identify a family issue we have discussed or read about which interests you (divorce, family violence, poverty, etc.). Find a website which provides your classmates with more information on this issue. In your post, give us the URL and a brief statement about this site – how is it useful for expanding our understanding of families, what is interesting about this site, can you discern any philosophical bias or leanings on this site, etc.?
3) Respond meaningfully to one of your classmates’ postings, either in regards to what they have learned or commenting on the website they have posted.
