In "Poetics of Space", Gaston Bachelard describes how the house has been used in art and psychology as a metaphor for the mind, the body, and the psyche.
The cellar can represent unknown fears. The attic sometimes represents higher thought, but also a place where things can be locked up and forgotten.

This assignment is to explore the metaphor of "the house".
