Students in Kristine Diekman's
class, VSAR 305, Art and Digital Video for the Web, were given
an assignment:
Create short voter awareness videos which could be
viewed on the web and could be used by ASI and Cal State Faculty
to urge students to register and vote.
Due to the timely nature of the assignment, that registration
is ending October 18, they had only two weeks in which to
concept, shoot, edit and compress their videos for viewing.
The vidoes on this site are the result of their hard work,
thoughtfulness, and creativity.
The videos included on this website represent the students'
diverse ideas, feelings, and convictions about voting. For
some, the Presidential election is just "more of the
same"; however, they also urge you vote for the many
important local propositions which can change our commuties.
For others, voting is a basic right that needs to be exercised,
without which we are not able to exercise our freedom, desire,
needs, and goals as individuals and as a society.
Although all of these videos are well produced, they will
be judged by a panel of students from ASI, and the top few
will used by ASI on their website to help in the voter registration
drive. The goal for this drive is to register 1500 Cal State
students. The best vidoes will receive a prize. If you want
to let us know which is your favorite and why, please email
the instructor
and tell her which you like. And Vote!!
