Assignments
|
The assignments tool allows you to create assignments with due dates, supporting files and to accept online submissions. |
Calendar
|
The calendar can be used to list exams, guest speakers or even group presentations. You can make all the entries or allow your students to use the calendar to sign up for group projects. |
Discussion
|
The discussion tool can be used for asynchronous discussion with other students in the course. Private discussion boards can be created for groups. |
My Grades |
The my grades tool allows students to see all of the grades that you have released. Students cannot see other students's grades. Creating an online gradebook is easy. |
Mail |
The mail tool is internal course mail and is not connected to your regular email account. You can send course mail to all students in your course or to specific individuals. You may also send attachments. |
Syllabus |
The syllabus tool is used to create a pre-formatted syllabus. Most instructors prefer to upload their own syllabus file to this location. |

Chat
|
The chat tool can be used for synchronous online meetings and/or virtual office hours. A script of each "chat" will be save in a chat folder in My Files. |
Content Module
|
The content module allows you to gather resources and materials in a table of contents format. In addition to Microsoft Office files you may link to other WebCt tools here. |
Glossary |
The glossary tool allows you to provide definitions for vocabulary words for your course. |
Language Selector |
The language selector tool allows you or your students (if you choose) to switch to French, Spanish or
English. This option must be requested when you fill out your Online Course Components Request form. |
Organizer Page |
The organizer page tool allows you to organize files in one location. This tool is often used to gather handouts in one location. |
Quizzes/Surveys |
The quiz/survey tool enables you to create quizzes using your own questions or those provided from your textbook publisher. Online quizzes are scored by WebCt and entered into your gradebook. |
Single Page |
The single page tool is useful when you want a direct link to one file. |
URL |
The url tool allows you to create a direct link to an online resource such as E-Res or an important Web site that your students will need to access often. |
