Common Tools	Description
Assignments	The assignments tool. This handout will cover how to view and submit an assignment. Discussions	The discussion tool can be used for asynchronous discussion with other students in the course. Private discussion boards can be created for groups.
Mail	The mail tool is internal course mail and is not connected to your regular email account. You can send course mail to all students in your course or to specific individuals. You may also send attachments.
Calendar	The calendar  can be used to list exams, guest speakers or even group presentations.
Silverlight	Microsoft Silverlight for Mac (and PC) users: This allows playback of Windows Media files embedded in web pages
