Why
The Learning Module tool allows you to add a variety of resources to one WebCT page. For example, you could create a learning module on a specific topic and link to a lecture, PowerPoint slides, an external Web site (on the Internet, not on WebCT), a Discussion Board and a Quiz.
When you want to collect different types of resources on one page, the Learning Module can be the ideal tool.
The Learning Module has a Table of Contents with a hierarchical structure. You can choose to use numbers or not. You can also indent sub-categories and they will collapse into the main headings. Some professors use textbook chapters as their main headings and then indent and link to notes, PowerPoint lectures and test review information. As the semester moves on, students can "close" chapters and only see the details of the current chapter.
