Turnitin Assignments letter box icon for assignment tool

Why

Turnitin assignments are now seamlessly integrated with WebCT 6. Turnitin generates originality reports and is a very effective plagiarism detection tool. There is no need for individual Turnitin student passwords or course access. From inside the WebCT 6 course, papers can be submitted directly to Turnitin, receive instant originality scores, and be automatically graded and put into the grade book.

You determine the assignment settings. You can also hide originality report scores from the student view.

If you are teaching a face-to-face class, consider having students turn the first assignment in both online (uploading to Turnitin) and handing it in to you on paper. That way students who may have some technical difficulties during the first attempt submitting online will not be penalized. You can give them a second opportunity to upload and you will know they completed the assignment on time.

Hint: You can have students upload their Turnitin assignments or you can upload their papers for them. You can elect NOT to have student papers checked against each other. Make sure to select "options" to add a rubric or to hide originality reports from students.
